It is probably the unique landscape of the Sesto Dolomites that attracts numerous participants to the Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run and the Drei Zinnen Ski Raid in Sexten/Sesto every year. After the exertions on the route which involves more than 1,300 metres of altitude gain, you are richly rewarded at the Dreizinnenhütte/Rifugio Locatelli Hut with a fantastic view of the three majestic mountains pillars of the Three Peaks towering into the sky.
The Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run is one of the most popular mountain runs in Europe. Every year, 1,000 mountain runners from over 20 different nations take part in the race. The course of 17,9 km and 1,354 hm leads through the impressive mountain world of the Sexten Dolomites.
The highlight for all kids during the mountain running weekend is the Mini Drei Zinnen Alpine Run. This traditionally takes place on Sunday. Children and young people up to the age of 18 can take part.
At the renowned ski touring competition in Sexten in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, participants cover 17.8 km and 1,625 hm. The highest point of the race is the Sextner Stein with a direct view of the Three Peaks. The annual and breathtaking memorial ski tour race is dedicated to Roland, Michael and Markus.
